Ted Bates

Bates spent his entire career playing for Southampton between 1937 and 1953. He was a lethal striker who had a knack of scoring important goals for the club. In total he made 216 appearances for Southampton and scored 64 goals for the club. He formed a fine partnership up front with Charlie Wayman between 1947 and 1951.
