Jason Dodd
Dodd started his career off playing for Southampton during the 1988 – 1989 season and went on to spend an incredible 16 years at the club. In total he made over 400 appearances for the club and is considered by many to be one of Southampton’s finest ever full backs. He played for the club while they were in the top flight and helped them reach the 2003 FA Cup final, suffering defeat against Arsenal.
Mathew Le Tissier
Le Tissier made his Southampton debut during the 1985 – 1986 season and is considered by many to be the clubs finest ever player. He was one of the most gifted and talented player in English football during the 1990’s and was renowned for scoring some outstanding goals. He was a huge favourite with the supporters and made over 500 appearances for the club and scored over 200 goals. He made eight England international appearances.
Jeff Kenna
Kenna began his football career playing for Southampton in 1989 and went on to spend six successful years with the club and established himself in the Southampton defence. He moved to Blackburn Rovers in 1995 for £1.5 million and helped the club win the premiership title. In 2001, he played for Tranmere Rovers before enjoying spells playing for Wigan Athletic and Birmingham City. He won 27 international caps playing for the Republic of Ireland. |
