Rory Delap

After starting his career off playing for Carlisle United he left the club in 1998 for Derby County. At Derby, he made over 100 appearances and established himself in the midfield. He became Southampton’s most expensive football player in 2001 as he signed for a club record of £4 million. At Southampton, he spent five years with the club and made over 140 appearances with the Saints. He was part of the Southampton side that reached the 2003 FA cup final. He has made 11 appearances for the Republic of Ireland national football team.

Theo Walcott

Walcott made his Southampton debut against Leeds United in October 2005. He only made 21 appearances for the club and scored some fine goals before signing for Arsenal in January 2006 and is now regarded as one of the brightest future talents in the game. He was part of the 2006 world cup squad of England. Walcott made his premiership debut against Aston Villa in August 2006.

Peter Crouch

Crouch started his career playing for QPR during the 2000 – 2001 season and in his debut season at the club he scored ten goals. After a successful spell at Portsmouth he moved to Aston Villa in March 2002 for £5 million and could not hold down a regular place in the first team. He moved to Southampton for £2 million in the 2004 – 2005 season and did not disappoint at the club as he scored 12 goals in only 27 matches. He signed for Liverpool at the start of the 2005 – 06 campaign and has not disappointed since arriving. He has now scored eleven goals for England in only sixteen appearances.
